Will you join us?During a trip to Haiti Dr. Julio Volcy the founder of Hope Outreach International encountered a young boy named Jimmy in a small village in the North called Sous-Matla. Like thousands of children there, Jimmy is a 12 year-old orphan. His dad died in a car accident and his mother died while giving birth to his little brother. Living with his grandmother with barely enough to eat. Jimmy is essentially a street-child; he has no clothes and little hope. After much time ministering to Jimmy, Dr. Volcy led him to Christ where he has much hope!

Here's how you can help…Through Hope Outreach International and affiliated care givers (orphanages) in Haiti you can help the Haitian children realize their dream of true independence. For $20 per month or $240 per year , you can provide a year's education and one good hot meal every day, for a boy like Jimmy. Orphans

Hope Outreach International is partnering with “House of Children by Faith Orphanage” in Carrefour, Haiti. The orphanage is currently houses over 100 orphans and disinherited children.

The orphanage was started in 1988 by Rev. Jean Polistin, a Haitian pastor who was led of the Lord to start taking in orphans and other needy children for years before starting the orphanage. While Rev. Polistin is still the pastor of the associated church and is very involved with the children, his daughter, Célianie Valmond, oversees the orphanage and associated primary school

Although Hope Outreach International is currently sponsoring about 100 kids in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and running a primary school with 81 student in Leogane, Haiti. It was sad when the HOI's team Haiti report to us there were more than 50 kids ages 6-13 who never attended school during our annually VBS last summer. In response to this discovery HOI is answering the call to help these boys and girls face a better tomorrow. Hope Outreach InternationaI’s team in Haiti is currently running a school HOI established as away to give these kids access to an education. Because of the kid’s age and lack of exposure to the school environment, they were evaluated before being placed in the classroom and additional one on one learning time is necessary. It is difficult to place these kids in a mainstream school when mentally, socially or physically they will feel out of place. Upon the completion of a thorough needs assessment Hope Outreach International feels the necessity to start a school particularly for these kids who would not fit in the regular classroom.

We need your help! We cannot do it alone. If you are a parent, just imagine not being able to send your eight, nine…twelve or thirteen year old to school because you cannot afford it. What if you don’t have any kids, imagine being in one of these kids shoes. Imagine the joy of making a difference in the life of a young boy or girl living in poverty. Vacation Bible School

Since 2002 HOI sponsored and hosted vacation bible school in the small village of Lamotte. However this year was even more special. Like every other year anticipation and expectancies were high. On the first day 40+ staff members open the gate to 339 kids ages 3-13 at a local Church in Lamotte. The participants were eager to come in; the counselors were ready to serve them. VBS ran from Monday through Saturday. The kids were served 2 meals daily. About 600 kids, parents and staff attended on Saturday.

The theme was “Jesus is the Rock of my Salvation.” Over 3000 beads colored: Yellow, black, red, white, blue and green were distributed to the participants to make the salvation bracelet. The kids used the bracelets to tell their parents, neighbors and friends about Jesus. Their daily activities included: Devotion, songs, bible verses, recreation, games/sports, arts and crafts, and health prevention. On the last day Saturday, each class did a presentation on what they learned throughout the week. The kids were blessed by the presence of a popular Christian artist in Haiti Villaire Noel. He ministered to them through songs using his guitar. More than 17 of those kids gave their life to Christ. Friends from the US as well as Haiti contributed to the success of this camp.
